Multi-admin Matter lets one plug live in Apple Home and Google Home. Eviction means it vanishes from one fabric during sync — often from overlapping shares, expired codes, or hubs pushing conflicting updates.
Why eviction happens
You shared to Google while Apple was still finishing fabric metadata. Two share codes were active and the device picked the wrong fabric to drop. Hub firmware mismatches between ecosystems caused partial sync. Ghost entries in one app made the device look evicted when it was still bound elsewhere.
Fix sequence
Complete primary commissioning in one app; confirm toggles work. Share to one secondary fabric; wait until reliable before the next. Revoke old invites in the vendor app. Update all hubs the same week. Delete duplicate offline nodes in every controller before re-sharing.
Factory reset only if the device is gone everywhere — not after the first eviction scare.
Verify
Device responds in two controllers for 48 hours and survives one hub reboot overnight.
